The Vatican has ordered all journalists accompanying Pope Francis on his upcoming trip to Iraq (March 5th-8th) to be vaccinated against COVID-19 in order to join the Pope, despite outstanding moral and health concerns regarding the injections.

Ask the Holy Father to make vaccination voluntary, rather than obligatory. And, ask the Vatican to supply a morally-licit vaccine to those who wish to receive one.
The decree, issued January 20, is ground-breaking in its kind, and signals the great faith which Pope Francis appears to place in Covid vaccines, even though most of them are abortion-tainted.
But, this decree does not stand alone.
Indeed, in early February, the Vatican City State issued a decree calling vaccination a duty in maintaining the public health, and essentially threatened Vatican employees with the loss of their job, if they refused the vaccine.
But, forcing a person to take a vaccine (i.e., violating their bodily integrity against their will) as a condition of employment is, itself, morally unacceptable.
And then, there is the question of the morality of being asked to take a vaccine tainted by the use of, or testing on, fetal cell lines from aborted babies.
In a paper released on December 12, 2020, Bishop Athanasius Schneider, along with co-signers Cardinal Janis Pujats, Bishop Joseph Strickland, and Archbishops Tomash Peta and Jan Pawel Lenga, expressed their strong conviction that any use of a vaccine tainted with the “unspeakable crime” of abortion, under any circumstances, “cannot be acceptable for Catholics.”
The prelates pointed to the contradiction between Catholic doctrine, which teaches that abortion is “a grave moral evil that cries out to heaven for vengeance,” and the commonly found view that abortion-connected vaccines are permitted in “exceptional cases of ‘urgent need.’”
“To argue that such vaccines can be morally licit if there is no alternative is in itself contradictory and cannot be acceptable for Catholics,” the letter read.
The Vatican's mandate, thus, asks a journalist whose job it is to travel with the Pope, to potentially violate their own conscience by the taking a vaccine very probably tainted by abortion.
This is wrong and unconscionable.
Therefore, because of the serious issues of morality concerning the violation of bodily integrity as well as the forced reception of a vaccine which is likely tainted by abortion, we now call on Pope Francis to rescind the order mandating vaccination for journalists traveling with him on his Apostolic journey to Iraq.
