PETITION: Dump Netflix over video depicting Jesus as a homosexual

NEW PETITION UPDATE (1/10/2020) - The President of the Brazilian Supreme Court, Minister Dias Toffoli, has placed a temporary injunction on Wednesday's lower court ruling which ordered Netflix to remove from distribution their highly-offensive and blasphemous movie depicting Christ as a homosexual.

As expected, the left-leaning Brazilian Supreme Court has stepped-in to frustrate application of the country's penal code, which provides penalties for publicly denigrating an act or object of religious worship.

And, also as expected Netflix was in court trying to defend its denigrating film as protected free speech.

However, since this is a temporary injunction, made by only the President of the Supreme Court, it is likely that the story will continue.

It is, therefore, necessary that we continue to apply pressure directly to Netflix.

Perhaps this is your opportunity to quit Netflix. Their other productions are really not that good (especially on a moral plane).

Please consider SIGNING our petition to Dump Netflix, and pledge to cancel your subscription.

Thank you!

PETITION UPDATE (1/9/2020) - Brazilian judge orders Netflix to remove film that portrays Christ as homosexual.

LifeSite is delighted to report that Judge Benedicto Abicair handed down his judgment in Rio de Janeiro on Wednesday, stating that the film, entitled The First Temptation of Christ, broke the law and “seriously offended Christians.”

According to Article 208 of the Brazilian Penal Code, to ‘publicly denigrate an act or object of religious worship’ is a crime punishable by up to one year in prison. So, Judge Abicair was on solid legal ground in making his ruling.

Some observers say that the order is likely to be overturned by a higher court.

So, it is still necessary to keep applying pressure directly on Netflix.

While definitely a success, LifeSite are calling this a partial victory, as it does little to change the attitude of the company, itself.

But, cancelling your subscription does have the capacity to change Netflix's attitude. So, if you haven't done so already, please take the next step and Dump Netflix. Thank you!

Netflix has released a highly-offensive and blasphemous “Christmas special” movie that depicts Jesus as a homosexual and the Virgin Mary as an adulteress.

Bringing out this filth during Advent is obviously designed to antagonize and provoke a response.

But, if Netflix wants to mock the things of God and spit in the face of every Christian, just at the time of one of our most holy celebrations, they should expect a response.

LifeSite is now encouraging our supporters - and, anyone who respects the faith of other people - to 'Dump Netflix'...and cancel your current Netflix subscription.

If you don't currently have a Netflix subscription, you can also sign this petition. It simply states that you will not subscribe to their services.

The fact that the video is in Portugese and produced by a Brazilian "comedy" troupe doesn't matter; Netflix has endorsed this insulting rubbish and is streaming it on their service.

Politicians and public figures have denounced the video and the production group, Porta dos Fundos.

Famed Brazilian actor and director Carlos Vereza, for example, wrote on Facebook that the troupe of satirists is "pitiful" for creating "trash-porn movies."

Pastor Joel Theodoro of Bairro Imperial Presbyterian Church in Rio de Janeiro wrote that he has canceled his Netflix subscription because the video constitutes a "humiliation to the Lord.”

Cardinal Burke lambasted the Netflix film, saying: "They call it art but it is an expression of the emptiness of life without God and rebellion against the law that God has placed in the heart of every person."

And, closer to home, one LifeSite supporter wrote in, saying: "This is the last straw. First, Netflix was endorsing abortion in Georgia because of their heartbeat law, and, now, Netflix has sunk to this new low. I dumped Netflix last June, but now I'm going to let all of my friends and family know how bad it is to support this company."

Thankfully, this is the attitude which the many former-subscribers have now adopted on Netflix.

And, this is why it is now imperative that we 'Dump Netflix' and CANCEL our subscriptions, and also SHARE our feelings with our family and friends.

Now, it's your turn to act.

NB: Signing this petition will NOT automatically unsubscribe you from Netflix. It only declares your intention to do so, and this petition will be sent to Netflix's Chief Content Officer, Ted Sarandos.

NBNB: After you decide to SIGN the petition, you will receive a 'thank you' email, with a link to the unsubscribe page on the Netflix website. You can then unsubscribe if you wish, or do so at a later time, if and when it suits you.

NBNBNB: If you don't currently have a Netflix subscription, you can also sign this petition. It simply states that you will not subscribe to their services.
