Over the course of a decade where every U.S. corporate giant has bent to the will of LGBT cultural demands, Chick-fil-A has stood strong, cultivating millions of loyal, grateful customers.
But in a stunning reversal, Chick-fil-A has announced that its charitable-giving arm, the Chick-fil-A Foundation, will no longer provide funding for Christian organizations reportedly because these groups do not recognize gay “marriage.”
Chick-fil-A has made a business decision that many Christians see as caving in to the demands of LGBT activists.
This petition asks Chick-fil-A to immediately reconsider the shocking decision to defund pro-marriage organizations!
“There’s no question we know that, as we go into new markets, we need to be clear about who we are,” Chick-fil-A President and Chief Operating Officer Tim Tassopoulos said in an interview with Bisnow published Nov. 18. “There are lots of articles and newscasts about Chick-fil-A, and we thought we needed to be clear about our message.”
States Bisnow: “The new initiative will no longer include donating to organizations like the Salvation Army, the Fellowship of Christian Athletes and the Paul Anderson Youth Home, Chick-fil-A says, all of which sparked criticism in the past from the LGBT community due to the organizations’ stances on homosexuality.”
Conservative commentator Matt Walsh had this to say: “Chick fil A defied the LGBT rage mob for years and only grew in popularity because of it. Now all of a sudden they cave. This is the most pointless and counter productive surrender I’ve ever seen.”
Rod Dreher of The American Conservative said this: “Shame, shame on you, @ChickfilA. You are the 3rd most successful fast food franchise in the US. You had no reason to capitulate. But you did. Yes, shame on the progressive bullies too -- yet the greater shame is yours, Chick-fil-A, you cowards.”
Please tell Chick-fil-A to immediately reverse its course and stop pandering to homosexual activists, and to continue to fund pro-marriage and pro-family organizations.
NB: This petition does not specify which pro-marriage and pro-family groups Chick-fil-A might sponsor, but, in principle, Chick-fil-A should reconsider defunding such organizations.
