Update, October 19, 2018: Thanks to you, Twitter has restored our account! They said they "made an error" in locking our account and "apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused."

Thank you for all your support! Read more here.

On October 18, 2018, social media giant Twitter informed LifeSiteNews its account was locked because a tweet from 2014 violated its rules against "hateful conduct."

The tweet in question reads: "Why HIV, syphilis, and gonorrhea are rising among homosexuals http://t.co/DIEwvHwM1x via @GerardMNadalPhD"

The article, written by Dr. Gerald M. Nadal, reported that a study conducted by the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) and Prevention found that men who have sex with other men have a much higher rate of testing positive for HIV and other sexually transmitted diseases.

Twitter told LifeSiteNews that it could either delete the tweet and continue to use the platform, or appeal.

LifeSiteNews has chosen to not delete its science-based, fact-based tweet and totally rejects Twitter's characterization that posting facts is hateful.

Twitter's intolerance betrays what billionaire Peter Thiel, himself a homosexual, previously called a totalitarian mindset in Silicon Valley.

Twitter is now trying to force news agencies to report only what is acceptable to their personal, biased views and shutting down balanced, factual reporting on the homosexual issue.

This situation is dangerous for our democracy. It is scary. A free press is one of the basic and necessary foundations for a genuinely democratic society. It is in everyone’s interest to fight this type of totalitarianism by the handful of tech giants that are now acting as gate-keepers of all information.
