A shocking video showing a male pro-abortion activist in Toronto roundhouse-kick a peaceful female pro-life protester has been seen on YouTube more than 800,000 times.
The video is so outrageous it has been picked up by major news outlets across North America.
Still, Prime Minister Trudeau refuses to directly rebuke the attack. A media request to Trudeau by LifeSite was handed off to the minister of public safety. That office then issued a generic statement: "We condemn all forms of violence."
The 46-second video was recorded by Marie-Claire Bissonnette, youth coordinator for Campaign Life Coalition, a Canadian pro-life group.
The video shows Bissonnette being confronted, then assaulted by Jordan Hunt, a hairdresser who worked at Noble Studio 101, while participating in the annual Life Chain event Sunday outside an abortion center in Toronto.
Hunt, who has since been fired from his job, was drawing with markers on protestor’s signs and clothing before attacking Bissonnette.
No one should ever be physically assaulted for their beliefs, especially when they are expressing them peacefully.
But this vicious, male-on-female attack has unique significance given recent events in Ontario.
In December, Ontario Liberals passed a bill that banned any pro-life activity outside the province’s eight abortion clinics. It also allowed hospitals, pharmacies, and other healthcare facilities that dispense the abortion pill to apply for “bubble zone” protections from pro-life protests.
One of the main reasons given for the bill was that women needed to be “protected” from supposed violence by pro-life protestors.
In reality, it seems pro-life protestors need protection from violent pro-abortion activists.
In January of this year, Justin Trudeau condemned an alleged attack on an 11-year-old, hijab-wearing Muslim girl. But it turned out to be fake news.
Despite publicly stating that his “heart goes out to the young girl who was attacked, seemingly for her religion,” an investigation proved the incident never happened.
Will the Prime Minister, quick to condemn an alleged Islamophobic attack, also condemn this attack on Ms. Bissonnette, a Christian living out her own religious views?
