UPDATE (4/2/2019): The official 'discharge petition' has been filed in the House by Minority Leader, Rep Steve Scalise (R - LA).
Now, it's more important than ever to SIGN this petition and tell Representatives in the House, no matter what party, to reject infanticide and support a vote on the Born-Alive Abortion Survivors Protection Act (H.R. 962).

A group of 21 House Republicans are pursuing a vote on the Born-Alive Abortion Survivors Protection Act (H.R. 962), in spite of opposition from Democratic leadership.
This Born-Alive bill would help legally safeguard the lives of babies born-alive after attempted abortions by requiring that they receive medical assistance, and would finally give real teeth to the enforcement of current legislation forbidding infanticide.
This petition, therefore, asks every Representative in the House, no matter what party, to publicly reject infanticide and support a vote on this bill.
Specifically, we are asking that they sign a 'discharge petition' which will be filed for this bill, and which, when signed by at least 218 Representatives, would progress the bill out of committee stage, to debate on the floor of the house, and, eventually, to a vote.
But, why is this even an issue? Why can’t politicians agree on this matter with the vast majority of the American public?
According to a recent poll, 77% of the public agree with the bill’s provision that healthcare practitioners must provide the same degree of care to a baby who survives an attempted abortion, that would be offered to any other child born prematurely of the same gestational age.
Perhaps, the reason so many Americans have a strong opinion about the matter is the repulsive stance by some Democrats on this issue.
- Recall how the Democrat Governor of New York, Andrew Cuomo, lighted the WTC in NYC as well as the State Capitol in Albany, to celebrate the state’s new abortion-till-birth law.
- Recall how Democrat Virginia Delegate Kathy Tran stated that her monstrous bill would allow for abortion even when a woman is in labor.
- Recall how Democrat Virginia Governor, Ralph Northam, while defending Tran’s bill, heartlessly suggested that if a child survived an abortion, a discussion between his or her parents and the attending physician would decide whether or not medical care was provided...and, obviously, whether or not that child might have a chance at life, or face certain death.
This is what’s it’s come to in the America of 2019.
And, that’s why this petition asks all members of the House to support the discharge petition for the bill, as well as the bill, itself.
Though the bill - shamefully - did not gain enough support in the Senate, the House wants to send a message to the American public that a majority of Congressmen - Representative and Senators - DO NOT support infanticide...nor the types of abortion outrages, like in New York and Virginia.
And, they also want to set a precedent for the next Congress, to support this bill when it comes up again.
A vote on the Born-Alive Abortion Survivors Protection Act in the House will, also, crucially provide the American public - who are overwhelmingly FOR the passage of legislation to protect babies who survive abortion - with the information they need to decide who to vote for in the next elections.
We know that one abortion is too many and will work to ensure that all innocent human life is protected from conception till natural death.
However, measures which seek to protect unborn and born human life and which draw attention to the humanity of these human beings, who are threatened by abortion or (now) infanticide, can only be a step in the right direction for a society which has clearly lost its way.
Please SIGN and SHARE this urgent petition, calling on all representatives in the House to support the discharge petition, requiring debate and a vote on the Born-Alive Abortion Survivors Protection Act (H.R. 962)!
