PETITION: Tell the National Education Association to stop pushing Leftist politics on our kids!

It is back to school time for millions of children across America and radical leftists within the nation’s largest teachers’ union are doing their best to give Americans another thing to worry about, besides having to get up early again.

At the most recent national representatives’ assembly of the National Education Association (NEA), motions were presented and passed on a series of issues that can only be described with one word: godless.

Because of this serious situation, LifeSite and Personhood Alliance are combining forces to PETITION the NEA to put children’s education over (Leftist) partisan politics. Please SIGN, today!

Abortion-on-demand as a fundamental right, boys in girls’ locker rooms, the never-ending special treatment of the LGBTQ community, reparations, and white privilege are all priorities the NEA is endorsing.

We will be taking our concerns about the NEA to Congress, and ask them to investigate whether or not the NEA's policies directly influence teachers—who may be afraid of losing union support in employment negotiation, for example, if they deviate from the union's Leftist social policies.

Incredibly, two motions—one that urged the union to "re-dedicate itself to the pursuit of increased student learning in every public school in America by putting a renewed emphasis on quality education" and another that called for teacher preparation programs and training to be focused on "commitment to students and their learning"—did not receive the necessary votes to pass.

This is incredible!

Given the priorities of the political leaders inside the NEA, does it surprise anyone to learn that the NEA donates over 94% of its lobbying budget to the Democratic party? No wonder American academic test scores rank so low!

The pro-abortion motion in particular deserves a full reading. The language here could be used as a real-world example to supplement students' reading of George Orwell's masterpiece 1984

New Business Item 56 reads:

  • Through existing media channels, the NEA will honor the leadership of women, non-binary, and trans people, and other survivors who have come forward to publicly name their rapists and attackers in the growing, international, #MeToo movement.
  • Furthermore, the NEA will include an assertion of our defense of a person's right to control their own body, especially for women, youth, and sexually marginalized people. The NEA vigorously opposes all attacks on the right to choose and stands on the fundamental right to abortion under Roe v. Wade.
  • Rationale/Background
  • The most misogynistic forces, under Trump, want to abolish the gains of the women's rights movement. Women's leadership is essential for any successful egalitarian movement and therefore must be protected.

In this one business item, the NEA disparages and discriminates against the majority of Americans, who are not on their laundry list of protected classes; the president of the United States; and of course, anyone who believes the child in the womb has the right to live.

Most damaged of all, however, is the NEA’s reputation. New Business Item 56 tramples on science and basic decency and dehumanizes pre-born children by repeating the abortion industry’s mantra that killing children is about defending a woman's right to control her own body, as if the unborn child doesn’t even deserve to be acknowledged.

Of course, these priorities do not represent the majority of teachers who belong to the NEA for different reasons. Perhaps it is time to leave the NEA and form a conservative teachers’ union—one that can defend the real interests of teachers and their students, instead of puppeting for the most radical elements of the Democratic party.

Thanks to the 2018 U.S. Supreme Court decision Janus v. American Federation of State, County, and Municipal Employees, Council 31, teachers who do not belong to the union can no longer be forced to pay dues. So isn't it time for good teachers to organize their own union?

Please sign our petition and share it with your family and friends, especially if they are teachers.

The NEA represents the teachers and the students whom they teach. However, all of these radical policies, taken together, are not supported by a majority of the teachers who pay union dues. Nor, indeed, the students they teach.

And, moreover, these offensive policies are harmful for both student and teacher.

Please SIGN and SHARE this urgent petition, today, and tell the NEA to focus on quality education NOT Leftist politics!

Thank you!
