The 'Catholic' University of Notre Dame (South Bend, Indiana) has announced the hiring of Pete Buttigieg, a pro-abortion homosexual who is ‘married’ to another man, as a 2020-2021 faculty fellow at the Notre Dame Institute for Advanced Study (NDIAS).
This is an appalling scandal.
If Notre Dame refuses to rescind its offer of a faculty fellowship to Buttigieg, this petition respectfully asks the bishop of Fort Wayne-South Bend, Most Rev. Kevin Rhoades, to bar Notre Dame from using 'Catholic' in its title.

Of course, Notre Dame is no stranger to scandal. In 2009, the university infamously honored pro-abortion President Obama by allowing him to give the commencement address.
At the time, there was a storm of controversy because the university's action implied that the Catholic Church agrees with abortion - which it absolutely does not.
But, hiring Buttigieg is worse.
Why? Because by hiring Buttigieg as a faculty fellow, Notre Dame is implying that Catholic institutions should embrace practices and ideas antithetical to Church teaching, even though the law regards employees of religious institutions as 'ministers' of faith - whether or not they are clergy.
And, moreover, because Buttigieg's personal life and beliefs stand in direct opposition to the moral teachings of the Catholic Church.
- On Life: Buttigieg supports abortion on demand and has refused to condemn infanticide.
- On Family: In his high-profile run for the Democratic party’s presidential nomination, Buttigieg inferred that God made him homosexual and very publicly encouraged a 9-year-old boy to ‘come out’ as homosexual. He and his homosexual partner also announced that they planned to 'have a child.'
- On Freedom: Buttigieg supports 'LGBT rights' over religious freedom.
This is an insult to the Gospel of Jesus Christ, and to His Blessed Mother for whom the university is named.
It is also a scandal that the university would promote these sinful practices and ideas by awarding Buttigieg a faculty fellowship.
Unlike during the Obama scandal, this scandal cannot be allowed to pass without consequence.
Please SIGN this petition which asks Notre Dame to rescind its offer of a fellowship to Pete Buttigieg, and, fail that, asks the bishop of Fort Wayne-South Bend, Most Rev. Kevin Rhoades, to bar Notre Dame from using 'Catholic' in its title.
